More Sustainable Buildings Program returns more embracing

Anyone who wants to carry out works or buy equipment to improve energy efficiency at home can once again apply for state support. The deadline for submitting applications ends at the end of November or when the amount allocated to the Environmental Fund runs out.
The pandemic scenario motivated the creation, development and implementation of programs to support and boost the economies in the eurozone. In the area of sustainability, the Support Program for More Sustainable Buildings had support, intended at giving consumers the chance to be reimbursed (even partially), for example, by strengthening the energy efficiency indices of their home or adopting systems of air conditioning and domestic hot water production based on renewable energy sources. In just over three months, the State had exhausted the amount initially allocated to this support (4.5 million euros!!!), has ended up reinforcing the program with five million euros more than foreseen, to give a response to the applications that had been eligible until the end of 2020. This second stage has already been supplied, initially, with 30 million euros, from the Recovery and Resilience Plan, and has a broader scope. Applications submitted by November 30th are accepted unless the money runs out before that date.
The Support Program for More Sustainable Buildings maintains four main areas: de-carbonization, energy efficiency, water efficiency and the circular economy in buildings. Given its length, it is advised that you carefully read the supporting documents, which are presented on the Fundo Ambiental website.
It’s is a program with national coverage, in which natural persons who own existing and occupied single-family buildings (housing), of autonomous fractions in multi-family buildings (apartments) or multi-family buildings. Expenses are only reimbursed for re-qualification works or the purchase of equipment made from companies registered in the portals of the respective areas of intervention (see the following heading) this point is essential and should be checked by typology on the Environmental Fund portal -, and invoices must be dated after September 7th, 2020.
