Why is your home not selling?

Questions to ask yourself if your home isn’t selling as well as you’d like:

1. What is your house’s status?
If your home needs a lot of work, this can lead to a lack of interest on the part of the buyer. Most buyers want to be able to walk in and avoid big projects, especially when it comes to maintenance. You should consider repairing at least a few minor but noticeable things like chipped paintwork, worn carpeting or an overgrown backyard. Often, simple fixes can make a big difference!

2. How desirable is the location?
One of the most important factors for both potential buyers and the value of your property is location. The location cannot be changed, which is why it is so valuable! Is it on a very busy road? Or that you don’t have outdoor space? This may be the answer to your problem, which means you may need to rethink your pricing.

3. What is your marketing approach?
How does your home present itself online? Does it make people want to book a visit, or do the photos not do it justice? Make no mistake, the quality of professional photos and the appearance of your home online greatly influence who and how many people are interested in it. Think like online dating platforms, would you swipe right if you saw your house?

4. Your house is in great condition, the location is unbeatable and the photos are incredible. So what’s left?
At the end of the day, the price your home is selling at is the factor that will make or break interest whether your home sells or not. Reevaluate your home’s price and watch the market to see if it needs an adjustment.
